about

this work was part of a show dealing with the baroque. it was inspired by the etymological references of the word baroque which is derived from the portuguese word “barroco” or spanish “barrueco” both of which refer to a “rough or imperfect pearl”. the work is a 3D scan of a mold of an arm from a baroque sculpture. the grammar of the off set planes in baroque sculpture is reflected in the 3D-scan itself, but is radicalised in the cut and displacement in the 3D-print.
