artist statement

iben zorn works in a wide variation of media such as sculpture, text and print. her practice investigates spaces created within text and language and she works with juxtapositions between language and objects. this is visible in poetic compositions on paper, where rhythm and the idea of a potential interaction with the breathing of the reader play a central role. her artworks are often balanced beetween the conceptual traditions and minimal form language – and a more tactile handcrafted approach sometimes with a sense of a decay or an unravelling of the object, creating a relation to the term entropy as a measure of disorder. the often poetic titles of the artworks are meant to help suggest a narrative that may be continued or rewritten in interaction with other objects and text pieces.
